Billing records and payments
Users usually need one of two things: a history view, or a payment action. Those are different pages.
Simple rule
Use Billing Records for history. Use Payment Portal for payment actions.
Use Billing Records for
- Looking at invoices already on file.
- Reviewing past payments that were already recorded.
- Sharing a history page with a user or customer.
Use Payment Portal for
- Making a new payment.
- Managing a subscription or billing action.
- Taking the user into the payment flow.
